The Best Fly Fishing Camping Trip in Bariloche

At Trout Bariloche, we believe the best way to truly experience our rivers is to live them. Our wilderness camping trips immerse you in the raw beauty of Patagonia, where the days are filled with epic fly‑fishing, and the nights with the most breathtaking starry skies you will ever see. Forget the rush of returning to a hotel or the cost of luxury lodging — out here, the river is your backyard, and every sunrise feels like a private show.

At Trout Bariloche, we offer nine different expeditions throughout Patagonia, encompassing rivers, lakes, and lagoons, some still undiscovered by online platforms and foreign guides. We’ve unearthed hidden gems where fishing remains pristine, and we can take you there. Among other species, brown trout and brook trout are abundant in these sites and prized for their size and quality. To truly understand these trips, you’d have to come and experience them with your friends. We guarantee it will be a unique experience for you and your family or fishing buddies.
We, professional fly-fishing guides in Bariloche, developed these camping trips about 20 years ago when we wanted to find the best conditions for fly fishing.

Brown trout are very solitary creatures and don’t like fishing pressure, especially encounters with houses, cars, and bridges. We realized that the best way to find the wildest trout was to organize two- or three-night camping fly-fishing expeditions. These expeditions can last a week and are the best option if you want to experience the wildest parts of Patagonia. We have about 10 rivers where you can float for several days, as well as some inaccessible lakes that take a long time to reach and from which you can’t return in a single day. Junín de los Andes is the best place to start any of these trips, along with San Carlos de Bariloche and Esquel.

Our camping trips are incredible and consistently successful because we provide top-of-the-line equipment, tents, cots, high-quality sleeping bags, and a cook.

A boat goes ahead on every trip, setting up camp, so that when you arrive, you’ll find yourself enjoying a kind of luxury trip while also exploring the wildest parts of the Bariloche region and its surroundings.

The renowned fishing towns of Bariloche, Junín, and San Martín de los Andes are surrounded by incredible fly-fishing rivers, including Chimehuín, Caleufú, Collón Cura, Alumine, Limay, and Manso.

These rivers offer more than 300 miles of terrific, clear water, from which we can choose the best option at the moment of your fishing trip.

We are located in Northern Patagonia, in Bariloche, home to the largest concentration of these spots, and from our base of operations, we offer trips on various rivers throughout the summer. To ensure your experience is easy and safe, our guides speak English, are rafting guides, trained and certified by local associations, have been trained by our team, and are part of a passionate fly-fishing community in Argentina. They will keep you safe throughout the trip, share your joy every time you catch a trout, and be there to guide you like true fly-fishing professionals.
