FLOAT TRIP LIMAY

Within a 45 minute drive from Bariloche you´ll get to this world class river, located in the north east of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. The river runs through the step, a dry area with picturesque volcanic rock formations and beautiful narrow canyons. In local language, Limay means “you can see through it”, thanks to its gin clear waters.

Limay is a wide fast river, with its banks covered by willow trees. It can be a tricky river to fish in, unless you have the help of our expert local fishing guides and drift boats.

Get Started by professionals

Trout Bariloche guides are basically fly fishing coaches and companions.
They will help you to progress in your fly fishing skills and introduce you into Patagonian culture and wildlife.

full day lunch

A high mark of our full day trip is the river side lunch, prepared by Sandra, our cheff and mom. At noon your guide will cook Argentinean steak, served with Organic Malbec wine, organic salads and appetizers.

best boats

You must fish the Limay from a Drift boat. Wind is very common in Patagonia so our fly fishing drift boats make a huge difference when handling the line on windy days. Thanks to their flat bottom they are much easier to hold and anchor on fast water.

Fly Fishing

The Limay river is a world renowned fishery, thanks to its large migratory brown trout. The best way of catching these tricky browns is casting big streamer flies from a drift boat, with the coaching of a local expert guide.
